Advertising is the public promotion of a product or service in order to attract interest in the product or service – generally to increase sales.  In this lesson, students will learn about the different forms of advertising and will choose a way to advertise their product or service.

Competencies-
Reading, writing
·         The student will become familiar with different types of advertisements
·         Students will state that the reason businesses advertise is to increase revenues.
·         Students will describe different kinds of advertising appeals.
·         Students will choose a way to advertise their product or service.
·         Students will be able to write classified and display advertisements
·         Students will learn to use persuasive language
·         Holding a class discussion about advertising
·         Asking the students to name all different kinds of advertising they can think of, such as radio, TV, Internet, newspapers, magazines, hoardings, mailings, brochures, flyers, logos, etc.
·         Differentiating between classifieds and display advertisements
·         Making the students design various kinds of advertisements
·         Asking the students to write one advertisement of each of the following kind-
v   Property for Sale
v   Situation Vacant
v   Situation Wanted
v   Matrimonial
v   Missing Person
v   Vehicle for Sale
v   Sale of Household Items
v   Display Advertisement
